The first job I ever got paid for as a photographer was to take photos of kids saying goodbye to their parents before heading off to summer camp. You know me: big money, high profile.

This girl was a natural poser. I can’t recall ever having seen someone so relaxed while getting her photo made.

I’m definitely thinking about becoming a casteller.

I was taking pictures of some punk-type teenagers who were dancing, drinking Don Simon sangria from Tetra-Briks and generally clowning around. When this one said she needed to make a call, another produced a telephone receiver from her backpack. The cord, of course, wasn’t connected to anything.

Later she spoke to me in English, apologizing for being too drunk and asking me why I was taking photos instead of dancing.

Indeed.

Did I mention that I love this girl?

Come on, baby, don’t make him ask you twice.
